15 Game Win Streak Continues

Reviews with Rob | C.E. King vs Atascocita

This was a highly anticipated showdown between two BSH top-ten-ranked teams. Atascocita was looking to stay undefeated, not only in the district but in the city of Greater Houston. C.E. King was looking to bounce back after a tough district loss earlier in the week. You would have thought that both teams were still playing football by how physical this game started off being. Unsigned senior W Avion Jackson was the main catalyst for this aggressive style of play for Atascocita. He was very active all over the floor, playing bigger than the perception of his stature. Brown commit Jerrell Barron was also a valuable asset in the first half. Not only did he have 7 points, but he also displayed a very high IQ, finding wide-open teammates with timely and on-point passes. C.E. King would be led by unsigned senior G J’Mar Franklin who, even though not shooting well from the field, attacked the basket and ended up with 6 points. ℅ 2025 W Christian Thomas would also be a valuable asset in this half. Despite being saddled with foul trouble, he would finish the half with 5 points and 6 rebounds. After a rough and tumble first half, Atascocita would be up 31-20.

In the second half, Atascocita would be stifling with their half-court defense. Led by unsigned senior P Jordan Maddox and unsung hero of the game, ℅ 2026 P Carson Countryman. They made it virtually impossible for C.E. King to get anything close to the rim. They held them scoreless for roughly the first five minutes of the third quarter. After being in major foul trouble, Christian Thomas would check into the game looking like a man on a mission. He would single-handedly put the Panthers on his back in a valiant effort to bring them to victory. Thomas would garner 14 points and 9 rebounds in the second half alone. C.E. King looked to be in a position to possibly wrestle this game away from Atascocita. In the fourth quarter, the senior leadership of Atascocita took over. With the lead cut down to three, Atascocita would go on a 7-0 run led by a couple of big baskets from Maddox and timely defensive plays from Barron and Jackson. Unsigned senior G Luke Martinez would hit a couple of threes to close the door on any C.E. King comeback, as they would go on to win 70-53.

C.E. King was led by: Christian Thomas with 19 points, 15 rebounds; J’Mar Franklin with 10 points, 2 steals

Atascocita was led by: Jordan Maddox with 17 points, 10 rebounds; Jerrell Barron with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists; Avion Jackson with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals
