#TheWarmUp Rob's Rundown
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the summer time edition of Reviews with Rob. In reviewing the event that took place March 29th known as The WarmUp, I will be giving you eight student-athletes that caught my attention during the four games I witnessed.
Issac Uribe, G, Beast Elite, 17U: Issac averaged 12.5 points over 2 games and shot 66.7% from the field. Efficiently and effectively getting to his spots made him a tough cover anytime he had the basketball. Definitely an under the radar player to keep an eye on the rest of the summer.
Christian Chambers, F, Temple NY2LA, 16U: Averaging 12 rebounds over a span of 2 games, Christian showed a knack for being in the right place at the right time. In the very first game, he snagged 19 rebounds. If this type of consistent inside play continues, I could see his recruiting interests skyrocket.
Chandler Beasley, W, Hyperfuse, 17U: I knew going into this game what I was going to see from this prospect and he didn’t disappoint. Buckets is what he’s known for. He shot 42% from the three point line and was a tough and gritty leader.
Quinton Sanders, G, Temple NY2LA, 17U: Sanders has a new found confidence in his play that has led to his overall effectiveness and created in him a well rounded game. He averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds while shooting an efficient 47% from the field and 37% from the three point line.
CJ, G, Cypress Celtics, 16U: CJ left no official name in the scorebook, but instead left behind a trail of highly impressive stats. He averaged the second most points of the day at 17 ppg, shot an amazing 56% from the field and an even more outstanding 60% from the three point line. As of right now, we only know him by his moniker and outstanding game play; however, I highly anticipate that his full name will become known and well recognized as the summer season progresses.
Caleb Johnston, G, Hyperfuse, 17U: An unquestioned leader. You could tell by how he communicated with his teammates and his coach, Ray Meach, that this young man has been around the game of basketball at a high level. He averaged 13 points on a variety of heady plays at the basket and shot a blazing 60% from the three point line.
Devan Brown, W, Temple NY2LA, 16U: Going downhill he was unstoppable, shooting 50% from the field (9 for 11 in two games). I feel like if he continues this play, his recruiting trajectory will change immensely. In my opinion, he’s one of the most underrated prospects in the entire class.
Bryson Bond, G, Beast Elite, 17U: In a close, nail-biting loss, this prospect was really impressive. His speed, vision and long-range shot making ability is what caught my attention. His on the ball defense was also something that was very intriguing. I’m going to be following closely to make sure that I see him again before summer’s end.
