Koye Rondeno sets school Record!

Reviews with Rob | Klein Cain vs Klein Oak

In a District 15 6A Region II matchup, Klein Cain looked to stay undefeated in district play against a Klein Oak team, looking for their first district win. The first half started off with a quick up and down pace. Both teams shot a lot of field goals, but not much went in. ℅ 2025 G Brennan Webb would be one of the bright spots for the Panthers. He would make some highly contested two point shots that would dazzle the crowd. ℅ 2024 G Isaiah Walker would also get into the act, with two three-pointers and 8 points total in the first half. Not to be outdone, Klein Cain’s unsigned senior backcourt of Koye Rondeno and Braden Fobbs would put on a shooting clinic. Rondeno would hit shots from all three levels and looked virtually unstoppable. He would finish the half with 19 loud points. Fobbs would also chip in 8 points that would give Klein Cain a 31-23 halftime lead.

In the second half, it was more of the same. Rondeno would continue to look like the best player in the game and also one of the more underrated, unsigned seniors in the area. He produced bucket after bucket, leading to a second half point total of 20 points and an overall school record of 39 points. ℅ 2025 F John Clark also chipped in 5 points and 7 rebounds in the half. As for Klein Oak, they just couldn’t get anything going. Unsigned senior W Bryson Holmes tried valiantly to put Klein Oak on his back, but it was to no avail. He did have a highlight putback dunk that would garner him 6 points and 4 rebounds in the second half, but it was the Hurricane night on this night. They would go on to cruise to a 63-43 victory that would give them a 2-0 district record. Klein Oak district would drop to 0-2.

Klein Cain was led by: Koye Rondeno with 39 points, 2 assists, 2 steals; Braden Fobbs with 10 points, 2 assists; John Clark with 9 points, 13 rebounds

Klein Oak was led by: Bryson Holmes with 10 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals; Isaiah Walker with 8 points, 2 rebounds; Brennan Webb with 8 points, 4 rebounds
