Panthers beat the Eagles on the Road!

Reviews with Rob | CySprings and CyFalls

In a 6A Region II District 16 matchup, Cypress Falls looked to keep a chokehold on the district lead as they took on the Panthers of Cypress Springs. This contest would start a little sloppy. I don’t know if it was good defense, or if both teams just had some serious nerves going on. Offense was at a premium. Cypress Falls would look to go down low to their Loyola of Chicago commit, Brayden Young, early and often. CySprings did a good job of negating his activity, led by the active defense of ℅ 2026 P Landon Veal. He would have two blocks in the first half, but also, his presence was also felt throughout the gym. Unsigned senior G Shawn Love would hit two huge three-pointers that would give CySprings a slight lead at the half by a score of 21-20.

Coming out of the break, CySprings showed us why they are one of the most dangerous offensive teams in Region II. Led by South Dakota State commit, Stoney Hadnot, who played with reckless abandon, throwing his body around and having his fingerprints all over the game. As well as Hadnot played, I would have to say that the engine for the Panthers this night would be ℅ 2025 W Joshua Green, who with his infectious energy and constant motion opened the margin up for CySprings to have a comfortable lead. Unsigned senior W Daylon Porter would show flashes of greatness for CyFalls, as he collected 8 points and tried to put the team on his back. Coach Boykin did a great job of playing keep-away, as his team held on to the ball for the last three minutes and forty-five seconds of the game. This would lead to his 100th career victory, as CySprings would defeat CyFalls, 46-42.

CySprings was led by: Stoney Hadnot with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals; Joshua Green with 11 points, 3 assists, 2 blocks; Landon Veal with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks

CyFalls was led by: Brayden Young with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 blocks; Daylon Porter with 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals
