Top 10 Game Recaps from 1st Half of the season

Here is the top 10 High School Game Recaps from the 1st Half of the Season (22/23). We have had the privilege of covering over 100 games in the first half of the season. We are thankful to all events, venues, and high schools for granting us access to cover the games.

10.) Beaumont United vs Dallas Carter

This game took place at RCS Sports Hoopsgiving Classic. Both schools are favored to make it to the UIL State Championship Tournament. Beaumont United is UIL 6A affiliate that is the current back-to-back UIL 5A State Champions, and have moved up to 6A. Dallas Carter is a UIL 4A affiliate that is favored to make it in the 4A portions.

9.) Fort Bend Marshall vs Beaumont United

Two NCAA Division 1 signees go at it in this game. Wesley Yates III of Beaumont United High School that is signed with the University of Washington. Jaland Lowe of Fort Bend Marshall High School that is signed with Pittsburgh University.

8.) Houston Washington vs Oak Cliff Faith Family

A true Houston vs Dallas matchup to start the season off with a bang. Houston Booker T. Washington High School of Region III and Oak Cliff Faith Family High School of Region II. Which is considered by most a potential UIL State Championship matchup for the very first game of the season.

7.) St. Thomas Catholic vs Lutheran South High School

Two Private schools go at it to open up their season in this matchup of TAPPS squads. St. Thomas Catholic is a TAPPS 6A school, and Lutheran South is a TAPPS 5A school.

6.) Aldine Nimitz vs Katy Tompkins

The McDonald's Texas Invitational is always a premier event in the second week of the season. As they use the hashtag of "Road to State". These two teams played in the Division 1 portion of the tournament. Aldine Nimitz High School (Houston, TX) and Tompkins High School (Katy, TX).

5.) Houston Washington vs Bellaire

Two HISD schools collide in a matchup of HISD power teams. Booker T. Washington High School is a UIL 4A affiliate while Bellaire High School is a UIL 6A affiliate. They went at it in the HISD Tournament held at the historic Jack Yates High School.

4.) PSAT Academy vs Houston Christian

The Mustang Classic (Basketball Tournament) Championship Game featured these two teams. The host school Houston Christian High School which is affiliated with the SPC league played against PSAT Academy (Houston, TX) who is affiliated with the SWAIC league.

3.) St. Thomas Episcopal vs Pro-Vision Academy

The very first game of the High School season tip offs with these two private schools. Pro-Vision Academy (Houston, TX) went on the road to face against St. Thomas Episcopal (Houston, TX) to begin the season.

2.) Seven Lakes vs Jordan

Big Time District matchup as these UIL Region III District 19 foes battled in front of a packed house. Seven Lakes High School (Katy, TX) went on the road to face Jordan High School (Fulshear, TX) both are KatyISD Schools.

1.) Atascocita vs Seven Lakes

An early season banger. This game went down to the wire and gave you the feel and a glimpse of a possible Regional Final matchup to see who goes on to state. Seven Lakes High School (Katy, TX) played host to Atascocita High School (Humble, TX).
