United continues its streak!

Reviews with Rob | Katy Jordan vs Beaumont United

In the second game of the Region III 6A Boys Semifinals, the 33-1 Beaumont United Timberwolves took on the 28-8 Katy Jordan Warriors. Beaumont United is very accustomed to being in this position seeing that they are the two-time defending state champions. Katy Jordan is the upstart program but was very game for the challenge. ℅ 2024 G Kade Dotson came out very hot from the field, hitting his first 4-5 field goals for a quick 10 points. Prairie View football commit W Trealyn Porchia was his usual junkyard dog self, getting all the tough baskets under the rim and playing incredibly tough interior defense. Not to be outdone ℅ 2023 G Misaias Herrera hit two long threes and it seemed like that would be the spark that the Warriors needed to bring the game back close. Even though they did not play their best, Katy Jordan was only down by 13 at the half by a score of 35-22.

In the second half, Katy Jordan tried to attack the boards with their unsigned senior post duo of Trevor Martz and Tyler France. They combined for 17 rebounds between the two. ℅ 2025 G Jaden Holt also played a good game considering he was the only ball handler that Coach Jones really had for the Warriors. University of Washington basketball signee G Wesley Yates III, pretty much silenced any comeback attempt with his savvy ball handling and senior leadership. In the end, the championship mentality of the Timberwolves proved to be too much as they prevailed 54-39 to take on Clear Falls for a chance to go to their third straight state tournament.

Katy Jordan was led by: Jaden Holt with 7 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals; Trevor Martz with 6 points and 9 rebounds; Tyler France with 6 points and 8 rebounds;

Beaumont United was led by: Wesley Yates III with 16 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds; Kade Dotson with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals; Trealyn Porchia with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals
